1906, the world’s first Air Conditioner US patent
On this day during on January 2, 1906, Willis Carrier received the world’s first air conditioner US patent. He was an American engineer who first developed modern air conditioning systems that helped revolutionise life in warmer climates.
First air conditioning system
Carrier invented the first air conditioning system for a printer in New York in 1902. After some improvements, he granted a US patent for this in 1906. The Carrier Engineering Corporation formed by Carrier and six other engineers in 1915. The company remains a major player in the industry.
