2017, Highest Successful Run Chase in the ICC Champions Trophy

On this day on during June 8, 2017, Sri Lanka’s Cricket team made the highest Successful Run Chase in the ICC Champions Trophy by chase down 321. Meanwhile, it also the joint-highest successful run chase in ODIs.

Firstly, Sri Lankan captain Angelo Mathews won the toss and elected to field. Sri Lanka chase down 321 against India at The Oval. Meanwhile, India scored 321 runs for 6 wickets. Sri Lanka scored 322 runs and won by 7 wickets with 8 balls remaining.

Meanwhile, this was the 150th ODI match between the Sri Lanka and India. However, Indian batsmen Shikhar Dhawan scores 125 runs off 128 balls and Sri Lankan batsman Kusal Mendis became Player of the Match by scoring 89 runs off 93 balls.

Meanwhile, opening batsmen Danushka Gunathilaka hits 76 runs on his first Champions Trophy match. During this mazing match, Mathews played captain’s innings by scoring 52 runs. However, Kusal Perera retired hurt in 47 runs.

Most importantly, this the ninth time that, the Sri Lanka cricket team have chased more than 300 runs away from home.
