2018, Highest individual score in women’s ODIs

On This day during on June 13, 2018, New Zealand Women opening batsmen Amelia Kerr, made the highest individual score in a women’s ODIs match, and became the youngest cricketer (at age 17), male or female, to score a double century in One Day International cricket, when she scored 232 not out against Ireland.

In the same match, Amelia took 5 wickets for 17 runs, her first five-wicket haul in women’s ODIs. New Zealand Women scored 440 runs and Ireland Women scored only 135 runs.

Amelia’s double century was also the third-highest individual score, male or female, in an ODI. She broke the previous record of Belinda Clark’s 229 runs set way back in 1997.

In March 2019, Kerr was named as the ANZ International Women’s ODI Player of the Year at the annual New Zealand Cricket awards
